ISTE Standard 1: Learner

Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.

1a. Educators set professional learning goals to explore and apply pedagogical approaches made possible by technology and reflect on their effectiveness.

Below is a PDF version of this Google Form. The survey is designed to assess student satisfaction with their academic advising services. The results of the survey will help me in setting my yearly goals, promoting me to learn new skills and to increase student satisfaction. Technology is facilitating this process and will be critical in implementing strategies to reach these new goals.

Professional learning goals can also be found here for academic advising.

1b. Educators pursue professional interests by creating and actively participating in local and global learning networks.

In 2018 I have submitted presentation proposals to both OTEN and NWeLearn. I'm still awaiting a response from NWeLearn while illness kept me from presenting at OTEN. Despite my illness, my teammates presented successfully.

I also currently am a member of NACADA and NCSS. I regularly utilize these learning networks to inform my professional practices and to build upon my skills through local conferences. While I haven't presented at a conference, I have plans to present on introversion in advising at a local NACADA conference in the future.
