5b. Educators design authentic learning activities that align with content area standards and use digital tools and resources to maximize active, deep learning.

Within my role as an academic advisor at WOU, I provide education students with teacher licensure exam support. To assist students, I took the frameworks for the exam - a series of learning objectives and possible tested content - and created a document of curated content resources aligned directly to the framework. The resources consist of educational games, practice quizzes, interactive lessons, peer reviewed articles, books, videos, and more leading to active, deep learning through a multimedia approach. Since it is a Google Doc, I am able to adjust broken links and update outdated material at any point. In their first year, the documents have received positive feedback from students.

So far I've created documents for both elementary subtests, the special education, the middle grades social science, and the secondary social science exams. The middle grades English Language Arts and ESOL exams are to be finished over the summer of 2018.

5c. Educators explore and apply instructional design principles to create innovative digital learning environments that engage and support learning.

The following video provides an overview for students of an online course designed with instructional design principles to assist licensure students in completing task two of the edTPA.
