Teaching Philosophy

I believe the purpose of teaching is to help each student realize and work towards their goals, to grow as an individual, and to develop the skills they will need later in life. This is what is most valuable for me as an educator: when students feel empowered to grow, explore, and experiment within their education. My teaching style is built on personal relationships with each student and is responsive to the needs of the individual and the classroom. In the classroom - whether physical or digital - I nurture the relationship that I’ve been building with the students, identifying their goals, and growing their independence. This connection matters as I act as their guide through education; they come to understand learning through me and that is a remarkable responsibility.

"It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something." - FDR
